Cohabitation considered again

The recent case of Joy Williams who lived with her married partner for 18 years has again raised concerns among some as to the need for a change to cohabitation laws.  However the case also highlights the need to keep an existing will updated especially where family structures change.

"Unmarried couples who live together should have cohabitation agreements in place outlining who owns property and how bills are divided. People should also ensure that their wills are up to date and reflect their wishes, particularly if their circumstances or relationships change."”
